New Bios update for gigabyte HD7950 ! - Page 46

Well, i flashed my bios with the F43 bios with no probs, its all working nicely smile.gif (Bios Flashed in DOS)

When at full load now, my card is running @ 1000 CLK & 1250 memCLK & the max voltage is 1.090 Volts which is great smile.gif

I just wish my Idle voltage was 0.850v but it appears to be locked at 0.950v sadsmiley.gif , anyone know why this might be ??

So what are the stock clocks and voltages for F43? My card is a voltage locked card with I think FZ1 and the card has 6+8 PCIe power plugs.

900/1250MHz stock clocks and depending of asics quality my core voltage is 1.094 under load and 0.850V. idle. Memory voltage is 1.5V.

May be this is the stock idle voltage for your card wich is voltage locked...

I believe you could be right that my idle voltage is locked frown.gif

My card has a 6 pin & 8 pin for the power, dont know if this means anything ??

It means that if your card wasn't voltage locked it would be pretty good clocker...frown.gif

Well, i didn't help you much - GB prevent me for this... :/

I just wonder if theres any way how to unlock voltage, any expert on these kind of things here that can explain somehow?

I flashed my FX0 cards to F43 tonight. I still don't have voltage control (hardware locked), but the cards run much cooler since they are no longer pegged at 1.25 vCore under load. 1.090 vCore is much more reasonable, and I still get 1 ghz core speeds.

Now that the VRMs should be happier I will see if I can clock these cards up.

Im glad you had success, you & me are in the same boat now lol, my card runs cooler now too, tho i have no intention of overclocking it smile.gif

Its also a shame that our cards are hardware voltage locked mad.gif
