You should really read the documentation provided on the page by Gigabyte before going ahead and flashing something as important as a BIOS. They specifically state to flash specific BIOS updates onto specific original BIOS files. Again, if you read the information available to you you, you would know that the F3 BIOS is not to be flashed on your card. I am not trying to be rude I just want to make sure you get that you need to read the provided information about things you are attempting to do. If you do the required reading you will probably save yourself a lot of time.

Get the correct BIOS for your card and flash that on. I believe that is F42, but don't quote me on that.
Success.

If you're stuck, just switch to the second BIOS and follow my instructions on the second page. Almost impossible to brick your card this way.

Wow! That's all I can say right now.

I flashed to F3 bios, and I'm doing 1.25ghz on unigine with stock volts!! My card was a pretty average OCer with the old bios and now it's one of the fastest! Gonna post some results in a couple minutes!

Unigine is as poor as it gets for testing stability. I could run Unigine all day @ 1.3ghz core and be fine, but if I played pretty much any game I would crash. I find BF3 or Ama 2 are the best to test real world stability.

Never, ever go with Unigine for stability. EVER.

F3 BIOS is a blast though and I am running 1.2ghz core no sweat! thumb.gif

short history: bought a while ago a Gigabyte Radeon HD7950 (900Mhz) with F2 bios, recently bought another card with F42. Flashed both cards with F3 and everything went perfectly at 1000Mhz (games, benchmarks, etc). In the mean time I asked Gigabyte about implications about flashing F3 over F42 (F3 was built only to update F2) and they replied that is not recommended because of the differences in the board components and the F42 bios could be corrupted in the process and the warranty is lost. While they did not provide any technical details I only can think of some long time effects, currently both cards worked just wonderful in crossfire, without any glitch, error, stuttering.
Just to be on the safe side, I switched both cards to backup bios and now I am running at 900 Mhz. I also asked Gigabyte about an updated boost version for F42 so I can run both cards at 1000Mhz with no worries but they did not replied yet.
best regards

Same boat as you .... However, I decided to run with f3 bios. Still have that backup in case it fail I guess.

Not sure if anyone else wants to comment on any potential issues by doing this ?

Ain't that something eh ?!?

I wonder why ?!?

Interesting, at least. No more 1Ghz clocks. They left only the memory enhancements, at it seems. I'd re-flash with this "new" BIOS.

I got the replacement card and came with F-42 BIOS -no problem. It's updated and still unchanged. Although, I still have the black artifacts/flickering.
