Galaxy GTX 680 GC 4GB good brand?

Hey all I'm about to buy a new video card and want a 680 4GB. I game on a high resolution why I'm looking for 4GB.

I found this 680 4GB for so much cheaper than the others. I'm looking at the Evga ones and not only are they more expensive but have lower clock speeds and reference design.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162105

The thing is though I have never heard of this brand. Can anyone vouch for their products and warranty? Also are they known to have coil whine? One of the reviews mentions it but maybe it's just an off occurence.

Thanks ahead of time

And I know there are people who recommend a 670 over it but I am set on a 680 smile.gif

Yes Galaxy are good cards (although your link is bad) i haven't had any experience with their warranty though

Sorry! Fixed

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162105

So would you recommend that particular one?

I can't believe how much more expensive the Evga versions are. Even though they use a stock cooler and lower clock speeds.

thats actually one of the best 680's atm if one was in stock at the time (and if i wasn't such a fanboy) I would have gotten that over my current Zotac

Oh by the way I was wondering if you can help me with another question.

Since this card exhausts the heat out into the case should I set my side door fan as an exhaust?

It's a HAF X with the plastic funnel on the door to direct the air to the CPU.

So should I just leave it as is as an intake and have cold air hit it or exhaust to take the warm air out.

I would, I am going to get the galaxy 4gb gtx 670 sometime soon and I am going to get a 60mm fan to set above it to help vent to the top of the case. (I am using mitx)

intake, blows the hot air somewhere else maybe lower temps
exhaust pulls hot air directly out, but might not pull as much hot air

my thought

I'd use it as an intake, however i'm not really sure

Oops I meant the funnel directs the air onto the GPU but I'm sure you probably figured that out despite my typo smile.gif

Okay I'll leave it as an intake so cold air hits it and cools that area.

Thanks again you two!

@HPE

Enjoy the 670 you're getting!

Yes, intake at the side so it has a fresh supply of cooler air.
