Whatever you choose to do, do not bother using software RAID (or the "FakeRAID" that's built into your motherboard) for RAID 5 - it really isn't worth the impending hassle. For RAID levels 0,1 and 10 those solutions are perfectly fine, but for parity-based RAIDs (levels 4, 5 and 6) a true hardware RAID card is the only viable solution on the Windows platform.
