I think I might just wait for a month or 2 and see what gets released/announced. What I would really like is a windows 8 phone with an x86 smartphone SoC. thumb.gif

Yup, but not identical. From what I have seen tho it's ridiculously close as well in features. Mostly it looks like all Windows 8 is bringing is support for better hardware and higher resolutions.

Much more than that.

+ Multi-core Processor Support
+ HD Resolution
+ MicroSD Support
+ IE10 (Yes, it's good. Fast java and full HTML5 support)
+ Integrated Nokia Maps, turn by turn navigation (On ALL WP8 Devices)
+ Native NFC support
+ Oh, and this.

Honestly, to me Windows Phone's UI is sick. I love it. The ONLY reason I haven't jumped on board with Windows Phone is because I was waiting for a device like the Nokia 920.

What do you have currently if you don't mind me asking? This should influence your decision much more than what is currently available.

And that it is majorly lacking in the applications department, it's missing core applications that has been featured on other OS's (namely iOS and android for a very long time). This was the only thing that made me get the GS3 over the lumia phones...

Ahh, that's does add some perspective. I really lke the UI as well, it's very clean and Microsoft went to great efforts to make it silky smooth as well even with older hardware. This is a stance I wish Google would have taken sooner with Android.

The Lumia 920 will def be the best Windows phone you can buy IMO, it's a shame they couldn't have given it a release like the iPhone or Galaxy S3 where it's available for the majority of carriers in the US.

The difference is that Android is a open platform, any company can pick up Android and set it as their OS. The difference is that the major companies are apart of the Open Headset Alliance and uses "Google Apps." However, they're able to do whatever changes they like.

Motorola: Motoblur (Shifted throughout the years)
Samsung: TouchWiz
HTC: HTC Sense

Making these Custom UI's run on top of Android doesn't help the situation as I felt stock Android (mainly 2.1+) was really smooth and fast; whereas, a UI such as HTC Sense is a lot more laggier. But yes you are right that Android is lacking in the smoothness department but I've always used custom ROMs and felt that they were fast. As of Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), smoothness is not really a issue.. especially with Project Butter.

Progress is which what matters. Windows App Store isn't as developed as their competitors, iOS' App Store, Google Play Store. So that is another thing to take into consideration.

That's a good point. It's going to depend on the person though. Like, what apps you use. Personally, out of the 100,000+ apps in Windows Market Place (or whatever the store is called), all the ones I use are available.

But, it's not like you had to downgrade when you picked up the GSIII. XD

Well, that's true. But it's better late than never, right? :3

I'm still using ICS actually, and I have no complaints. I plan to upgrade to Jellybean soon, however. Just haven't got around to it.

I agree that the Lumia 920 exclusive AT&T release is ridiculous.
