PSU with hybrid fan

Hello folks. I'm looking for a power supply around the 500-700 watt range that has a hybrid semi-active fan sort of witchcraft device mechanism. You know, the ones that the fan won't kick in untill the load gets to a certain point.

It's going to be powering an i7 3770K and an MSI GTX 680 Lightning with this unit, both of which will be overclocked. I'm thinking 500 should be plenty.

So what ye mates suggest I should get?

PS: I prefer it not to have any sort of nasty coil whine, etc.

Seasonic X650 Gold

Yes, 650 is more than enough for your build. Even with extensive clocks, drives and fans. I recommend this personally just because it will keep the load well below the fan threshold pretty much constantly unless you're really stressing the system. I can confirm that these do have that feature, as I am using the X750.

True that. That is my only regret over not getting the Corsair'd version of this PSU. The cables look much better as the internal insulation itself is black. Rainbow ATX connector makes me sad. rolleyes.gif Cheers, and good luck with the build biggrin.gif
