TO BUY BY : End Jan 2007

RIG Usage : Intense Gaming, Intense Image editing and 3D-Modelling &/or animation, (not sure) video rendering

BUDGET : Singapore Dollars $5000 (or US$3,253.50)
Location of purchase : Singapore (not sure if can do special import)

Other requirements :
1. Mobo minimum OC'ability to 3.6 GHz, optimally 4.0 GHz, dream 4.5 GHz
2. As fast as possible without being too expensive, of course with OC'ability
3. Mobo support possible SLi solutions in the future
4. RIG should last approx. 3 years
5. Mobo should optimally have WiFi, but not ultimately compulsory
6. Cooling allows good CPU and GFX OC'ability
7. DVD Writer don't need new optical compatibilty now (BluRay & HD disc)
8. Must have DX10 compatibility
9. P.S.U. of course supports the above mentioned hardware, if possible including SLi solution support
10. ...others, can't think of any more at the moment

Some discussions :
1. What's so good about solid capacitors over the usual?
2. Does processor batch matter in OC'ability?
3. ...others, can't think of any more at the moment

I appeal to the generous and helpful Overclock.net community to help me build my new rig. Any recommendations, comments about this configuration? All are appreciated. THANKS wonderful Overclock.net in advance.

Eahh, I would get the PCP&C Silencer 750w over any of the OCZ's. Expecially since it's single rail PSU.

Also, I would look for a non-SATA DVD burner.

2x1GB is better than 4x512.

If you want the 975x chipset. I'd personally suggest the P5W64 WS PRO since it can overclocks better than the P5W DH Deluxe.

other than OC'ability, are there anything better in P5W64 WS Pro? It seems it has quad pci-e x16, which i will never use, and pci 2.2 (compared to pci 1.0 in DH deluxe). furthermore, how much better is the oc'ing? why if possible?

pcp&c silencer seems nice, but what does 'esp. single rail' give me advantage over? why is it that you say OCZ loses to pcp&c?

ram : this one - TY2KIT12864AA663 ?

why non-sata dvd burner? is sata not faster than pata/ide?

ocz psu : this one - 700W - OCZ700GXSSLI ? why this category and not the other 2?

may i know why evga is the best for gfx? (i can see thaat popular opinion is such, but i like to conclude based on sound reasoning)

pardon me if it seems in excess of questions, but i really do want to make an informed decision before i purchase my new rig, since i want it to last at least 3 years. (my parents would highly unlikey buy a new one within that, allowing only minor upgrades)
