PCP&C is better than the OCZ GXS because it has a single, independent, 12v rail. The GXS does not have an independent 12v rail and must share it's 680w max output with the +3.3v and +5v rails, it also has quad rails and you don't want quad rails with a system that demanding

EVGA is a better brand to go with because of their stepup program but if you live out in Singapore then the stepup program wouldn't matter

If you're going to get RAM, you should try to get the Crucial that you posted, they're the cheapest D9GMH chips you can get

I'm pretty sure there is no performance difference between SATA and IDE dvd burners

so basically the single rail will provide full power for the 12V rail (which is the gfx i assume) while the GXS splits its power among everything drawing power from it? i don't quite understand the advantage of the single over quad rail, and does it affect oc'ing cpu (since it also depends on vcore).

ok if evga is only good for the stepup, anything else that makes it stand out? or is the ASUS / BFG gfx cards shine now the stepup is out of the question?

sorry, what is D96GMH and what is so good about them?

yes, i live in Singapore. and i just finished my 'A' Levels, yeah!

i would get this evga 8800gtx http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=EV-8800GTX

and the Zeus 850W PSU if you got the money.. And why not get a 680i Mobo? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188009

also you should get 2x 250 gb for raid 0

my suggestions

The advantage a single rail PSU has over a multi rail PSU is that you don't have to worry about balancing the load.

It doesn't affect OCing

Without the stepup program, EVGA is like the others so go with the cheaper brand

D9GMH are chips made by Micron that OC really well and almost always hit 1000mhz, with the good sticks going as high as 1250mhz+

i heard that the 680i mobo doesn't live up to expectations in terms of CPU OC'ing power. any advantages that led you to decide on it, option? (other than pci-ex16 x 3)

i don't think i need RAID HDD, as small amount of waiting time won't kill me, and i prefer selective backup also.

do i really need that much power (850W)?

thx for your suggestion, option.

really sorry boredom, but i still don't see what's good about the single rail part (sorry, im noob when it comes to psu, i always only see gfx and cpus). now i already dont balance any power whatsoever on my current rig (if it even needs any). thx for your detailed help and descriptions, also for the RAM chips part(now i understand).

You don't need 850w, the PCP&C 750w is more than enough

The problem is that if you put too much load on one of the 18a rails on the GXS (and this applies to all multi rail PSUs) it shuts off, with a single rail you never really have to worry about overloading it.

That is the shortest, most simplest explanation I can think of right now

ok, thx thats a much clearer explanation. yeah i also thought 850W is a little too much juice.

(no offense) hey guys, any other ideas about other components (mobo, cooling, casing, dvd writer etc)?

I linked the 850W PSU incase of SLI plans in the near future, For one 8800gtx 1 750 will be enough, for case you should get the Antec 900.. Linky http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129021 theres one for $90 on some site, forgot link tho

Another good case is the cm stacker http://www.svc.com/stc-t01-ubk.html You can buy a side window here - http://xoxide.com/stacker-side-panel-black.html
