Have a small question regarding ssd and a seperate hdd raid.

So, i got this issue im trying to nail down, im getting some random bluescreens when gaming and such, and my bluescreen viewer says its caused by driver hal.dll, now after talking to some friends to figure out what that is to begin with, they told me its a rather serious error and i should look into what is causing it, now i`ve come to think it might be my ssd causing this for this reason;
ssd wants me to put onsata chip to ACHI when im using it, but i also have a RAID0 setup on the same ports(sata6) so i have to set the onsata to "RAID" instead of "ACHI". Does anyone have any experience with this, had any problems running a similar setup as mine? I put this in the raid section since i figure it belongs here when the ssd have to run on the sata6 ports, and thats were i have my raid.

AHCI and RAID use the exact same set of protocols (RAID is built on AHCI), if the drive is not currently in an array, it is running as a single disk in AHCI mode.

HAL.DLL errors can be caused from a number of hardware or driver issues (it could have also just been unlucky and been at the top of the stack when you BSOD'd). Do you happen to have the error codes present that the BSOD shows you? Hex string on the lower portion. Should be something like 0x00000XYZ for example.

Have you cleared CMOS to see if it stops this from happening?

have you tried unplugging the raid setup and using only the ssd in ahci mode

RAID and AHCI are basically the same, shouldn't matter if you use RAID mode. May be a hardware issue. You should look here for help on this: http://www.overclock.net/f/17986/crash-analysis-and-debugging

Thanks for clearing that up atleast, then i know the raid option aint the issue. Yeah the error code is "0x00000124" the same error code on my last 4 bluescreens actualy. after a small google search i se ppl are blaming all kinds of different things, from OC to faulty bios software, chipset drivers etc. Bios and every chipset driver i got is the latest there is. Guess a downclock to stock speed is the next step just to check if its my overclock to 3,6 thats hurting me. lol

Didnt really think about that since my games are on the raid, but since mezmenir clear up that it should be a problem, im guessing its something else
