X1950 Pro, can't install Catalyst 6.10

Thread Starter
Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any problems installing the 6.10 Catalyst with X1950 Pro? It tells me to try booting the comp with the plug and play VGA driver, and that the card isn't compatible......I could install the 6.11 betas, as they are compatible. Also, I can install the 6.9s that come with the card. Any ideas?

You have to use either the drivers that came with the card, or the 6.11 betas. the rest do not support the x1950 pro.

Yea, I've tried the betas......although I found another Catalyst driver on Sapphire's site:
http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/suppo...s_viewlist.php
Here is the details from the information center in CCC:
Driver Packaging Version8.291.1-060822a-036024C-ATI
ProviderATI Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version6.14.10.6635
2D Driver File PathSystem/CurrentControlSet/Control/Video/{70B359D3-6EC6-4EA8-814F-3D2DEF116567}/0000
Direct3D Version6.14.10.0431
OpenGL Version6.14.10.6067
CATALYST® Control Center Version1.2.2425.37188

I ran 3dmark on the 6.11 betas and the 6.9s, and the 6.11 betas are slower for this card.....I got my best score with the Sapphire drivers from their site, but I don't know if they will work on the other brands like Powercolor, ASUS, but someone should give it a try, becuase it gave me around 50 extra points on 3dmark 06

Hmm I had no problems what so ever installing cat 6.10. I went and looked at the site and I see there is 6.11 out already. The release notes actually say it supports the X1950 Series. 6.10 only said the X1950XTX. I will try these out when I get home. I can't figure out why you can't install 6.10. I even tried installing some older versions of Catalyst to see if I could get ATI tool to work and they all installed fine.

could it have any thing to do with XP media center ed? I've never even seen it. I am just using XP pro.

Guys, get WarCat 6.10 and after that get the WarCat 6.10 Patch . This will add support for your video card and you'll be able to take full advantage of its power, for now.

I've always heard good things about the Warcat drivers, have you tried overclocking with this driver yet (I assume that you have an X1950 Pro)? If so, what application did you use to OC and what were your max stable core/memory speeds? I'm going to try the new 6.11s, and if I'm not satisfied, then I'll giv ethe Warcats a try.

Yeah, i have a 9800 PRO alright.
I guess i can't do much till WarCat 6.11. Sorry guys. It won't take to long until the driver will be out, though.

Hey, that's cool man....I'm looking foreward to it! Any ideas if it will allow overclocking without the screen going black? Mine goes black if I clock past 600 MHz and run a benchmark, but it isn't the temps, becuase they never go above 55C in games at 600MHz.
