Thread Starter
I've tried overdrive, and can't get it as high as some of the other guys witht the card, also I've tried ATI Tray tools, and I'm going to try ATItool, but I've heard that it makes the PC lock up.

Also, I can install the 6.9s that come with the card. Any ideas?
I have the Sapphire X1950 Pro video card and have seen the error you mentioned.
In order for the install engine to work. You will have to set the video to std vga.
save there and reboot.
Your system will come up with 640x480 or 600x500 depends on the screen. When you get to that point, the install will work.
If you have a new install of your OS, the install engine works just like it should.
So the registry must not have video drivers in it at all.

As of right now, I have used the 6.10's, 6.11beta's, 6.11certified, XGWarCat 6.11's are running right now.

I have had to manually install the display drivers and then rebooted.
When the system comes up.
The install program recognizes the card.
The install program works with all the drivers.
Since I do not us CCC I have to install the Control Panel manually also.
Everything is working well.

Thats most likely due to the driver version...As that card isnt heavily supported by most drivers iwould wait for the Next driver release.
