£120 Budget - Portrait Mode

Thread Starter
Friend of mine wants a second screen. He would like portrait mode, for this price I have no idea where to start looking.

He would prefer 1920*108.0

Any one have any recommendations. Must be available in the UK.

Any free standing stands? He cannot attach anything to the desk.

Just make sure the monitor has VESA mounting holes.

The Ergotron Neo-Flex shouldn't be bad and is a similar price. That is desk-standing and can do height, tilt, rotate, swivel, all fluidly (but not much height adjustment left if in portrait mode).

Most monitors, like all the TN ones that you'll have to be looking at because of the budget, are going to look funny in portrait because the left and right sides will look different (rather than top and bottom, less noticeable). But the cheapest 1920x1080 IPS is out of budget.

Cheers, he surprised my and upped his budget to £170, and brought a screen than could pivot. He went with a dell. Kind of annoying he asked then changed his mind so quickly, but meh. His decision.

There was one that I was looking up - and here it is:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Prolite-XB2374HDS-Backlit-Monitor-Technology/dp/B00650KXQA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1349777006&sr=8-2

It used to be £150 when I was looking at it.
So with a little searching around I'm sure you can find it at £150.
Does everything - 1080p native, got your standard connections, and best of all it is using an IPS LED technology.

I ended up going for this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-IPS234V-PN-AEK-inch-Screen-Monitor/dp/B008F7GW2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349777531&sr=8-1

And it is beautiful - but doesn't pivot - I was in two minds about the two, but when for the cheaper (£110 vs £150) and the better looking one -> LG
More so LG make the panels so...yeah biggrin.gif
