pretty much what everyone else said. psu is important, dont go cheap.

Your PSU doesn't have to meet the minimum specifications. My PSU isn't on Nvidia's SLI-Ready certification program and it's only a 550W unit, only according to Nvidia, enough to run one 680.

Fortunately the specifications are designed as a fail safe for people with poor PSU's.

My 550W not only easily manages two 680's but also a 3770K @ 4.6GHz, overclocks on both the 680s, two 18W pumps and many fans.
The PSU fan doesn't even come on while playing Borderlands 2 at max, 1080P. It kicks on and off when running Furmark and Prime 95 though.

I'm just saying that if op had bought a good 530W unit or even a good 400W unit he'd be fine.
