Q9650 overclocking help - Page 4

I'm running D5 Vario pump -> Thermochill PA 120.3 (basically double stack 360 radiator) -> CPU Block (D-Tek FuZion) -> Back to D5 Vario.

I actually have an extra PA 120.3, but unfortunately funds didn't accumulate during build so now it's sitting collecting dust. BTW, I'm running a closed loop, so no reservoir. Makes it such a hassle to bleed, but my reservoir went to poop so I just run the line with a T-line.

So, what I mean is, my radiator is triple the size of your radiator for your Antec 620.

If you live in Isreal, I bet it's hot all year round, so maybe you should try to invest your money into a custom loop. A custom loop would be something around 200$ US. Pump around 60$, radiator around maybe 60$, whichever block you choose (60$-100$,) and some tubing, which is relatively cheap, but that will keep your temps down no matter what setup.

I can't afford a custom WC Setup, Even if i could i wouldn't buy it until i upgrade my whole PC.
I'm in the army right now so i don't have much free time anyway so buying a custom wc setup now is not worth it.

Yah I would suppose try to be watching the temps, but it's ok as long as your voltage is below 1.45 vcore and temps at a safe distance from TJ Max I hear. Somewhere around 90c.

He won't be able to control his cpu temp with 1.45volt vcore, with his 620.

tjmax is 100c on the Q9650, and, 90c is way to high a temp to be comfortable with. I think that, considering where the op lives, 4ghz is a very good overclock.

@ 4ghz, with his hd7950, if he his a game player, he should be able to play all his games @ 1920.

Yup I'm always watching the temps. Also my chip isn't that good. I got 4.05Ghz stable at 1.33v so i guess the temps somehow reasonable.
Glussier, Mind share your bios settings to let me know of changes that i might try to throw at mine?

I realized that since last year, when I lowered my cpu based clock frequence from 480 to 450, most of the bios parms are at default now.

If you want me to show you my setup at 480, I will try to dig for that information. It has been posted here or at overclockers.com. Since this is a second computer now, I lowered the overclock.

Note that with my cpu and p5q-e, I can go up to around 465mhz base freq. before I have to touch anything such as fsb termination or gtl voltages.
