I took that Asus A8N5X board OUT of my rig and replaced it with the DFI Ultra D. From what I've been told that Asus board isn't that great for OCing. DFI is one of the best for OCing. And the San Diego 3700+ are also fantastic for OCing. Also they are about the same price as that 3800+

Stepping, as far as I know, basically refers to when and where the chip was made. Essentially, what batch of chips it came from. Some batches are better than others for overclocking, and because these differences have been recorded, you can get an idea of how well a chip will OC just by knowing what the stepping is.

Keep in mind though, that this only refers to how well the CPU itself will OC, as it still may be affected by the system it is put into. As I said, the stepping is more of an indicator of how it will overclock, not a guarantee.

That board is great. And a KACAE stepping is definitely one of the better ones. But even a poor stepping can usually reach at least a ~400mhz OC with a little fiddling.

My knowledge of water cooling systems is horrible though, so I can't tell you whether or not that is a good system. You may want to ask in the Watercooling section about it, and they can give you all kinds of info there. Just make sure you tell them that you don't want to make a custom WC setup, if that be the case. I know they suggest that a lot
