Hello,

I recently purchased a CM Quickfire Rapid keyboard. It had the labeling that I didn't care for so I'm thinking about spray painting the casing. I want to do it with a white flat paint. I needed some advice if this is the right paint to use. White Flat Krylon (Price for 6 cans, I won't be needing 6, lol)

Also the casing is some sort of rubber not quite hard plastic. Any help is appreciated.

You can use plastidip just in case you're scared of messing up. It's completely removable.

I think I would rather have it painted, I did look into that though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the videos. I'm wondering about the sanding part since the CM QuickFire Rapid has a rubber type coating on the case, if i'm supposed to sand it all the way down to the plastic.

Sand it enough that it will hold paint. It should feel like a matte/gritty surface before you paint it. I would recommend sanding it, putting on a light coat of white, lightly sanding again, then doing another coat of white, then putting a matte finish/sealer on it and letting it cure for 3/THREE/tres/III days without touching it or else you will have finger prints on it. Dry and warm place to cure. I can still see my thumb print next to number pad after I finger fuc*d it a day early.

Be sure to use even distance spraying and coating or else it will run. Practice on a piece of plastic you have laying around first.

ETA I don't have a rapid so I don't know what the surface feels like. Sand it down until its plastic. Wash/dry it before you paint as well.

I finally got my filco tkl so I could work on my CM QFR. I took the keycaps off and the top casing. Hopefully I can sand it and get it painted this weekend.
