if you want to overclock your cpu DONT increase the voltage because you will short the cpu life.

overcklock can also do with amd overdrive program easily!

1. To get higher clocks, increasing CPU vcore is necessary.

2. The max AMD specified voltage for 24/7 use is 1.55v.

3. A CPU's lifespan is usually around 10 years. Staying lower than 1.55v will shave off 1-2 years tops. CPUs are built like tanks smile.gif

4. Overclocking from the BIOS is more efficient and stable as compared to doing it via software.

i hope i helped you!
if you overcklock at very and your system cant hadle it,it will crash, blue screen and reboot!
if your system dont open the windows, close, unplug and take out the battery of the motherboard for 1 minute for
take the bios the factory adjustements.
then you ok to go on!
also you must have good cpu cooler for do not increase and stabilize tempreture of the cpu because of the overcklocking
post #15 of 92
i have amd 8150 cpu overckloced at 4,6ghz without increasing the volts and corsair H100 for cooling!
if you increase volts increasing tempratures, and the system usually crashes because of the overheating

Again, I iterate. Overclocking via software is not as effective as doing it directly from the BIOS.

Also in case of a failed overclock, all you have to do is hold down the power button for a few seconds until the system switches off and hit the button again. You'll be defaulted to the last known working settings.

Taking out the battery sounds like too much work rolleyes.gif

Keep in mind that FX chips have a higher base clock/overclock limit than Phenoms. You cannot compare the two as far as frequencies are concerned.

i agree with you for overclocking via software is not as effective as doing it directly from the BIOS but all the world arent so (hackers) to do overckloking from bios!
i have done an overckloking in a previous pc,crashed and then black screen everywhere, even the bios opens!
only solution was to take out the battery to stabilize the system!

Well (at least as far as Asus boards are concerned), the power button recovery method works just fine.

Also For future reference, edit your last post to include any additional info instead of multi-posting smile.gif
