Torn up on GPU upgrade. - Page 2

Well... Shoot. After poking around on my setup, I finally managed to get the display to work via HDMI... And to my big surprise, NVIDIA DOESN'T support triple monitor on one card? Really? I remember these limitations for a while but I figured they'd went around it since they added so many display connectors at the back...

So now it seems I'm stuck to either getting a 7970, or SLI my GTX 580 if I want this to work. I'd really prefer avoiding SLI, and I wouldn't want to skip on PhysX either. I guess I'll have to concede something. frown.gif

Yah limitations of the 5xx series, need SLI for more than 2 monitors however, a Triplehead2Go should work if I remember correctly. That's added money ($330 from amazon) and at that price I'd say SLI, interesting pickle you've found yourself in sir.

Yep, that was the biggest marketing scheme for the 460 2WIN, being able to surround game out of the box...

I'd keep the 580 til the next gen release, turn off shadows and crap you honestly dont care about or look into the fxaa injection thing

Or.. what IF I added a PhysX card? Would that allow me to do what I want? If it does, I'll just not upgrade. I could plug my 27'' Crossover on DVI, HDTV on HDMI of the GTX 580, and the other monitor(s) on whatever cheap PhysX card I'd grab.
