how about getting a PCI-e SSD drive? (i ordered a OCZ revodrive Hybrid - 100Gb SSD + 1Tb 5400rpm hdd => 800-900mbps write read speed)

In any case, I (personally) detest any hybrid "SSD" ... for some reason I think they are all a load of crap (much like this guy's Marvell SATA controller tongue.gif) - although that is personal wink.gif

Done and done.

Read/Write is about the same but my IOPS have vastly improved.

Boot times doubled.

And it seem as if the Marvell controller disabled itself as soon as the drives were not plugged in.

Maybe the wife will let me buy the 3770k I have been eyeing. (I could only hope) smile.gif

Oh, and as far as hybrids go.. I have had an eye on those Seagate Momentus 750gb's.

Maybe a couple of those in RAID 0 for storage could be fun.

Well, i never used any SSD / hybid ssd, and the benches look pretty cool on it, so i figured i could try it out. It looks promesing already tho
