So is this game bad because its not DayZ or is it bad because it sucks? I keep hearing mixed reviews.

No one should be 'reviewing' it, unless they're a complete idiot.

This game is still in Alpha stages, who in their right mind would review a game that is still in Alpha?

1. The zombies are glitchy, some take 3 hits with a hammer, some take 15 hits....some just don't die. It's extremely random which doesn't make the game impossible because you could have loads of loot and a single zombie can kill you when in my opinion, you should be able to easily handle a lone zombie with a spiked club. It's annoying because even tonight, armed with a spiked club and my mate armed with an M4, we struggled to loot a compound because of the sheer amount of zombies...which seemed to have an infinite respawn.

2. You need to eat and drink to stay alive. The problem with this is that your drink levels go down quite slow....and there is LOADS of drink sources available the game. Your food bar on the other hand goes down quite fast....and food is VERY scarce, by fast I mean if you don't eat within 1 and a half hours, you will die of hunger. The problem is the amount of food available (especially when you're in a group) just isn't enough to keep you alive.

3. There is only one map available. However this is just because it is in Alpha stage, they've already announced other maps.

4. There is nothing to do in the game as of yet. Character leveling is disabled, there are no missions. The only thing you can do in the at this present time is pick up loot and kill zombies/players. However they have announced that they will be introducing missions later on.

5. The safe zones are ghost towns. There is nothing to do in safe zones, no NPC's, no shops, nothing. They have announced that they are working on this and will implement a 'trading' culture to trade materials between different safe zones, have public houses for people to chat and take contracts out on other players ect...

Again, this is in Alpha stage. This functionality is missing for a reason, and that's because none of it is ready. The game will be entirely different upon release and I don't think it's fair to judge the game based on its current state. If you're really worried, wait until release.

I'm enjoying it to be fair, it's really tense when you're running around with nothing but a hammer and you see a couple of guys running up ahead with shotguns.

played it last night, and wasn't really impressed, the zombies need alot of work, they are very glitchy, I got killed by one which was over 5 meters away and with only 1 hit. But yeah it is early days yet, hopefully they will patch things up quickly (which seems to be the case sofar).

Also does anyone know if you can have crouch as a toggle rather than a hold command?

I played it last night too. First time I died, a zombie came out of nowhere and literally had me jump out of my seat when he hit me. tongue.gif Second time I survived a little longer trying to loot a town, then I had a zombie hit me and start chasing me. I couldn't run either because I was so low on health but eventually I somehow lost it going up a hill, then I fell off that hill and died...mad.gif
On my last life I managed to get into a town and find 3 shotguns? Then I got trapped in a house and after one of the guns ran out of ammo I couldn't switch to the other ones and died.

Overall not bad and I didn't find any glitches, although the 1 hour respawn timer is LAME thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I enjoy the game a lot. I must say the new zombie characters look better, and yes they're reach is outrageous but that was just changed on a patch. This will be fixed easily.

I try to move backwards while hammering out a zombie and aiming on the right side of their head. I agree it's glitchy and sometimes zombies don't want to die to my hammer, but I feel moving a bit helps register my hits. Could be totally wrong, just seems to work for me.

I played Day Z for months and have only played The War Z for two days now. Haven't died to a zombie but had some great firefights with other survivors. I don't care to comment on loot spawns yet because I haven't played enough but I think shots register better from guns than in DayZ. Again personal opinion. Of course I enjoy the better graphics, and I think the loot system and inventory is nice. Not sure I want to say either game is better, but when War Z adds vehicles I'll be stoked. One thing I don't like about War Z is walking seems too slow and of course I wish I could run 24/7 like in Day Z but it's all good I'll get used to it.

I haven't found a sniper rifle yet, or any cool attachments. Anyone find attachments for their weapons? Does the airfield have better loot? I noticed the military trucks have of course, military loot but haven't ventured south to the airfield yet.

All I know is the little town in the NE corner of the map always has a Mossberg and I actually found an M4 the other day in that church. The highway that's to the west of the new city is the best place for food and water, you'll be amazed. Found a Mossberg and M4 on that highway, and an M16 at the helicopter crash in the middle of the city. Also found an actually crashed helicopter when running through the fields but it didn't have anything, not even food and water.

I wouldn't recommend going into the big city by yourself when there are a lot of players on the server, chances are you'll die instantly.

Finding loot in specific spots is random, next time it will most likely be different. Also yeah, I would stay away from any decent sized city if you are solo, though you can risk it if you spot the city and make sure to always check your back. I love the Mossberg though, I one shot a guy the other day with it, then took his friend down with the Jericho. But the Mossberg damage really drops off even at like 20 ft.

I'm having a lot of fun playing, got a few friends interested in playing that aren't local, so I am making some video's to share with them about the game and figured I might as well just put them public on my channel for everyone. So if anyone is curious on the game and some of the information, check it out below.
