In terms of game mechanics, the model of The War Z is obviously based on The Day Z. The developers want the players to go out the big wide world (200 to 400 square kilometers in area) to search for better equipment (weapons, ammunition, etc.), materials (eg food) and valuable artifacts.

I think my biggest complain in the WarZ is the fact that it takes forever to get to point A and point B. I could put up with it in DayZ, but in WarZ you have stamina which doesnt last very long either.

It seems that this is the main reason the game has turned into a deathmatch game at campos, noone wants to run anywhere else and have to run back!

that will be resolved in time. They are going to add cars and trucks for the full version of the game, If you can find enough gasoline to power one that is.

BTW we made the our fort in server US 11 in fallsdale auto garage. Not sure if it's still there.

Not really anything new. Wipe should be going down at some point tomorrow, have not seen an official time yet :/

I really like the difficulty of the game(hacker's excluded, kill them with fire). There are many "realistic elements" to this game. Starvation, dehydration, fellow survivor's, limited rescource's(food, water, ammo, ect, ect... Its great.

This morning(work was canceled) I was Spawned on the Southwester edge of Capos. All I had was a Hammer, 9mm Jericho fully loaded and 1 spare clip. No food, no water, 3-4 badages and a painkiller or two. As soon as I spawn in I can hear gunfire coming from Campos, Lots of gun fire. Scared me half to death until I realized I wasn't being shot at. I figured F that, time to roll!

Headed south to what used to be the "unnamed town" outside of castle pine.because of its reputation I take my time once I get close, Scouting out as much as possible. I see zombie's in there usual place's, There is even one just standing in the parking lot in front of the dinner. After making sure I am alone(dead things excluded) I head in, slowly. I make for the garage, making sure to not pull any zombies, and watching the post office like a hawk, along with the hillside leading to castle pine.

There is stuff in the shop but its all crap, The store has a 9mm jerico(fully loaded) in it though, rest is crap. leaving the store I check the window facing the post office just before you exit the store. Good thing I was being cautious. 2 server hopper's sprint out of the Post Office and head for the dinner. One loot's while the other handle's the zombie.

I won't lie, this had my heart racing. They both had Assault rifles and there was 2 of their rifles vs one of my 9 mm's. By now I'm using 3rd person mode to watch out the windows so as to not give myself away. Time is very limited, They are right there and heading my way! If I leave they will see me for sure, followed by firing on me asap. I'm not a bandit, but felt cornered. Thankfully the player that decided to take the zombie was having a difficult time killing it. His buddy made a run for the store! Thank god I thought, I can deal with him and then use his gun to rush his buddy! the survivor heading my way was so occupied with the thought of potential loot he totally missed me lying on the ground to his right when he walked in! I took the oppertunity to plant 3-4 rounds in the back of his head, he went DOWN! As fast as I could I ran for the his weapon, It was am M16 with 17 rounds leff in the clip. SCORE!

Now I'm thinking worst case scenario this I have about 1 min 30 sec until he log's back in with a armed toon to join his buddy in rushing me. I figure if his friend isn't busting in the store in the next 15-20 seconds I need to rush him. I dig though the dead survivor's gear and take his large pack, some water and med's and make a break for the door. I check out the window before I bail out. I can see him by the car in front of the dinner. He's holding steady and still alone. I watch him for a moment, I figure I have to act now, about maybe 45 seconds until he has reinforcements.

Quick as I can I run back for a flair that was in the store. I toss it out the window at the car's direction, Not sure exactly what I was hoping to achieve but his reaction was perfect! He turned to retreat back to the post office, only to get 4-5 rounds in the back of the head. I run to his location and loot his weapon, fully loaded m4 semi, large pack, some food and water, and a spare clip of m4 rounds. I take it all and turn around. I leave town the same way I came in, by the RV next to the shop.

I make it to the RV and bolt for the cliff wall on my side of the town. Its been just under 2 min since I shoot the first survivor in the back. As I am crouched walking south along the cliff wall leading to Castle Pine I see a lone player sprinting from Castle Pine to the little town! It has to the the first player again. So I break into a sprint and follow him. as soon as I hit the corner wall I use 3rd person mode to look around it. There he is at the corner of the building looking at the flair I tossed only seconds before, with a loaded assault rifle and body armor this time. It has to be him I think. So I take advantage of his confusion and blind side him a second time, It take's about 8 round to put him down. His vain attempt to fight back resulted in him squeezing off a few rounds in my general direction, but no hit's were scored on his behalf. I rush over to him and loot his stuff. I take the armor, his second m16( mostly full), a mossberg(fully loaded), and 2 jericho's with full clips and 4 extra 9mm clips. SCORE!I slowly make my way back out of town and pass up going to castle pine. Now the sun is coming up and all this gun fire will have every bandit and sniper bearing down on this location at any moment. Time to bolt! I continue south looking for a place to make shelter and regroup for a little bit before moving along too far. I find a nice tree that cover's the ground at its base very well. Constantly checking behind me for follower's I make my way to the tree.

After being in my tree for about 4-5 min, eating, swapping out used clips' for fresh one's, ect, ect I hear a shot, its close, very close! Must be a sniper around I think. Couldn't be one of the player's I just ganked, no way did the follow me here. I stay low and think about logging out in the saftey of my tree. I don't even get to think about for more than a second and a second BANG ring's out. Turn's out it wasn't a sniper, What I was hearing was a Desert Eagle hand gun. It was a single shot to the head at very close range.

Scared me half to death too. I just about jumped out of my chair lol. Over prox chat I tell him to "I hope the weapons and ammo dose you better than it did the last 3 player's to carry it." He lol's, apologizing but stating its how the game go's he head's off. It was a total blast! I loved it!

Thats crazy talk, welcome to any Sandbox game ever. The entire Elder Scrolls series comes in mind, just add in PvP, thats really the only difference. The idea of a sandbox is far from a new one, infact all DayZ was is Arma II with zombies, so it was Arma's idea for that map layout and game type, not Rocket Halls or anyone else from the DayZ Dev Team.

Eh, I remembr setting map markers from my camp (a bit South of Stary) to Brezino and that was something like 5000m... Even sprinting the entire way, it probably took about as long to cover that distance as it does to cover the WarZ map alternating between sprinting and running. The tired out from sprinting mechanic adds a new game element I like as well. It sucked chasing people with a melee weapon, knowing you can't ever catch them.

Got a new video up, putting to use the NVG's I had, was a pretty good night.

Ya. They have updated there hack engine and banned tons of hackers. Lots of ban repeals ^^.

Well my friends with hacks unfortunetly have not. Meaning the "good" hacks are still around.

We encountered a bunch of hackers tonight too.

ban them all..

I personally wouldn't be able to play with some one who was hacking. The "If you can't beat'em, join'em" mentality is what spirals hacking in game's out of control.

I wounder outside of your friend how many people using hacks have/use the same excuse.
