Like everyone has been saying, this game is in alpha stage. It will get better and all the feature that is listed will be implemented. You can't expect every feature to be in game in alpha stage. Look at DayZ, it was unplayable at one point(hackers and bugs), but people still played it. All the bugs were worked out and new features put in.(can't wait for the standalone).
All i'm saying is that people are little cry babies. They should stop playing and wait for the game to actually be released at it's full and not in alpha/beta stage. IMO, the game was worth my $30.
Read above.

It is false advertising, which is illegal. Let me put this in another way that you might understand better; You wanna buy a car and you stumble across a TV ad describing the new Honda Civic with 40MPG, car sitting on 18's 235, remote controlled trunk and 250HP. You love the features so much that you go buy this car, so you paid for it and leave. Back home you wanna show your wife the new features so you try to open your trunk with the remote control, shame it doesn't work. You decide to do a visit to your closest dyno to show your friends your new car. On your way there, you feel that your brand new civic keeps losing traction and slides a lot on corners. You finally reach the dyno and you notice that the tires are 195 sitting on 16's. Civic ready on the dyno, the results are 160HP and you noticed that your car did 23 MPG to get there. You call them and they tell you all those features are going to be on the next year Civic.

Would this be false advertising? Other people might buy the same car but won't mind the lies, does that mean that it's okay? They are most likely going to recall the cars for faulty wires and such, that means its okay because they seem to care? I hope you understand my point.

OMG!!! That is so funny. You did not know... they did release it yesterday. You just said it your self. It's an alpha game... that they want people to pay for.

Steam page where you can purchase the game with said features that are not actually in the game. Did you click any of the links I posted that you quoted me on the page before?

The game is no longer Alpha/Beta. They are officially calling the Steam release their "Foundation" release, meaning the game is in a playable and enjoyable state with the major bugs ironed out. What difference does it make? A game will have bugs regardless of it being in Alpha or final release. The only thing that determines whether it is Alpha/Beta/final release are the developers. If they feel it is in good enough shape to be called a foundation/final release, then so be it. It's not for you to decide, though if you insist, only your money speaks.

I canceled my Paypal preorder and got a refund. Not because I don't like the game. I do like it. My friends are just annoyingly skeptical about it being a scam and whatnot. I honestly think it's better/has better potential that DayZ. I may go ahead and rebuy now that it is on Steam, but I might wait to see if it goes even cheaper during Christmas time. I have a feeling that it will since people are such paranoid conformists that suddenly believe the game is a scam just because the Internet 4channers think so. I think the game has already generated a good amount of profit that the developers are happy with and they may be willing to be generous with a price drop to please the masses that insist on criminalizing the game. There also seems to be much better customer response and game support from the developers than your typical huge "AAA" blockbuster from EA/Ubisoft. I've seen nothing but frequent patches since day 1.

Alright, sorry i haven't been up to date within the past 5 days. Just got back from vacation. Anyways now that they released it, i can understand where you guys are coming from. They shouldn't have released it yet to steam if it's still under development. My apologies and no i didn't click on any of the links since i was posting on my iphone i didn't want to be linked anywhere. I've been playing since alpha release and it was worth the $30. But just joining now i wouldn't do it.

You're right. But it's not bugs... it's an unfinished game that is being sold with things it does not have.

I'm glad I came here before purchasing it. I'm definitely going to be skipping it. At least until it matches what the description of it says. I'm not here trying to say that the game should fail. I love the concept. I just can not buy it and not have any of those things working. That's like me purchasing something that MIGHT have the potential to be what it says.

What ever happened to vehicles anyway? I thought I had read a little while back they planned to get those out while the game was still in alpha.

Looking at the Steam description, it doesn't even mention them at all.

Edit: Reading the RPS article, it mentions it's in the works later down the road still.

I understand where many are coming from saying the game doesn't have what it claims to have on Steam's page, but I can also understand that it takes time to get your game approved to be offered on Steam. Perhaps Valve approved and opened the game up for sale sooner than the developers expected? There could be a lot of factors where I'd give the developers the benefit of the doubt. They could have a patch with vehicles and a 2nd map in the works that could release by year's end. They might have intended to release on Steam as a pre-order and it was Valve's error. Who knows? I just hate that people are so quick to jump and say "omg War Z developers are such scammers they're falsely advertising all this stuff that's not even in the game yet," as if the middle man (Valve) making an error isn't possible. I see the most ridiculous comments on War Z's Facebook page on every post they make.

Highly unlikely! Plus seriously... out of the 1000s of games that come out a year on steam... this one already had a bad rep, from what I've been reading from past posts here and other sites. Then this JUST happens to happen to them?

The threads on people requesting refunds on the Steam forums can not be closed quickly enough... both in the general gaming forum and the games forum.

Total biscuit got involved! That's it, hold the presses! tongue.gif (jk btw)
