[Toms] Viewsonic Launching "Frameless" IPS LED Panels - Page 6

here we go again with their bezelless/frameless scams, when are they going to stop lying?

i wonder why apple isn't also advertizing their iphone 4 and 5 as bezelless/frameless, i mean, their glass screen goes edge to edge too right?

Ultra FAIL, I see plenty of frame tongue.gif
post #53 of 74
Why isn't it possible to just create a monitor without a bezel at all? Can they not just stick an LCD panel on a stand tongue.gif

OK I'm joking... (partially...)...

What they need is monitors that are made to connect with a 1/16 gap tongue.gif

Then it's a good job this thread is about frames and not bezels.

BUT...it is not only not bezel-less, which OFC it is what the company wants it to sound like to create hype etc, it is also UGLY...com on, with a huge selection of aesthetically pleasing "frames', why would I choose that abomination? Love that ppl smack on the "cheap korean 27s" for being bulky and generic looking...

Incorrect, they were creating hype via a 'frameless' design, you just miss-understood their message.

A frameless design means exactly that, there's no frame. Sort of like the impression a tempered glass monitor gives you (edge to edge glass which detracts from the fact that the LCD is actually indented slightly). By framless, they are stating that there is no indentation (aka completely flush) between the bezels and the LCD panel. They are not stating that there are no bezels.

It actually looks awesome. Have you ever seen a tempered glass monitor? It has the perception (especially when turned off) that there are no bezels. It looks really slick. It doesn't really offer a viable benefit other than aesthetics, but then this thing is as ugly as sin so those aesthetics don't really matter anyway.

with laptops, they call this edge to edge display, different terms, same BS.
i am waiting for apple to start his kind of BS to cellphones, their iphone 4 and 5 are both "qualified" to be called frameless

It's not terrible, I mean my monitor has about a 1cm frame or so, I think have 2mm would look pretty hot.

That is if you the the frame is very important. I honestly could care less considering I never exactly look at my frame.

Bought 3 of the 23 inchers @ $190 a piece on Newegg for my new gaming rig I'm building this weekend.

Why does this look exactly the same (albeit different colors) like the AOC monitor that just recently launched? Even the specs are the same... rolleyes.gif
