Best Liquid Cooling for i7 3770k

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about getting an i7 3770k, and I want to overclock, but I don't know what liquid cooling to get for it.
So 3 questions:
1. What do I need for moderate overclocking - 4.0 - 4.2
2. What do I need for high overclocking - 4.5
3. What do I need for extreme overclocking - 4. 8 - 5.2 (is that possible)

The main reason I want an i7 3770k is for video editing in Premiere Pro, motion graphics in After Effects, animation in Maya, and playing newer games that utilize hyperthreading like BlackSpace.

i have a 3770k and its overclocked to 4.5 GHz at the moment, i have a full watercooling loop with 3 rads. with that overclock i get a max temp under full load with prime 95 of about 80 degrees celcius, average temp under full load is aroung 75 though. With the voltages i needed for 4.8GHz + the temps jus sky rocket up to 90+. if you can stick to 4.5 GHz i would. Also if you can afford it i would go with a watercooling loop, like the XSPC Rasa 750 rx360 kit. thumb.gif

The best thing that you can do for Ivy is to pop off the IHS and replace the thermal paste. That will make more of a difference than which water cooling components that you use.

Arqtik's Quad TEC direct die waterblock. Keeps the chip nice and cool and the water loop nice and hot. wink.gif

Dude I actually just air cool mine at 4.4 GHz, and I **** you not my temps stay at around 25 C at idle and never more than 50 C full load. I use a cooler master hyper 212 evo, heat sink. I would stick to 4.5 for your max as well.

Ivy Bridge is just a pain to overclock. It really depends on which individual chip you got, as it seems that they vary a lot as to how far you can push them. I have a full custom loop with EK supremacy and RX360 rad and I need 1.3v to have a stable 4.6ghz overclock. My load temps are around 75 C. Any higher and it just gets really hot.
