Most importantly the temps,

and the cooling

I have H80 and OCed my i3770k to 4.22 GHZ

and here is my temp

http://www.overclock.net/t/1316610/h80-with-push-pull-config-avg-temp-around-72c

Note : Being a Noob I had to reapply the paste and re-position the cooler block in next few days frown.gif that should bring down the temp and allow me to overclock more

Go with an H100 or similar all-in-one loop. I love mine! Although, if you can afford to go custom, even better! thumb.gif

Yeah no worries, I think I just lucked out with this chip. I usually just keep real temp, or speed fan open during gaming sessions and check the idle temps through the bios, the hottest it will get is off running crysis 2 or heaven benchmark, I haven't really done a hardcore stress test, since its not clocked outrageously high. My apartment stays around 67-69 Fahrenheit, so with three exhaust fans and three intake fans everything stays pretty cool.

but in real temp the cpu reads as a 3770 and not a 3770"k" but then again I dont how you oc'd it
post #17 of 20
I use the offset voltage set to 0.065 for my 4.5 OC this allows me 1.28v at 4.5 and then drops to 1.112v and less at idle, from what I read its better to use the offset than just fixed vcore. If you run fixed 1.3 volts then when you go to idle it keeps the same voltage at lower speeds and you don't want that. just my thoughts.

If I overclock my i5-3570k(simular to i7-3770k) ,i overclock it to 4.5Ghz at 1.24V Offsett or 1.2V Fixed. My temps are around 75 in prime95 with my Hyper 212 Plus and terrible case with one 60mm fan (atleast 3000RPM fan biggrin.gif)
