Is that a DVI cable I spy? Who made this picture, its terrible tongue.gif

VGA I think

This picture has been shown and debunked here already before in one of the many Apple news threads. Nothing to see here, move along.

Sorry going to call you out on this one. You are 100% Wrong. My Note 2 charges using the mini USB charger and will go from dead to full charge in under an hour and a half, usualy within an hour. I have tested this with : wall charger that comes with the phone, kindle fire wall charger, GS 2 wall charger, USB into TV, USB into Computer via USB 2 port. So how exactly does USB charge like a snail? Yes my Kindle Fire uses USB mini and its charger will work on any mini USB phone or device. There is absolutely no advantage to Apple's Lightning cable/connector.

@Hyrbid : Looks more like a VGA plug lol.

For all those stating why USB can't be used etc...

A electrical engineering analysis of the Lightning connector:

Analysis of the connector in the iPhone 5
http://brockerhoff.net/blog/2012/09/21/boom-teardown/
Quote:
So, summing up all I said here and in my previous posts:

* Lightning is adaptive.
* All 8 pins are used for signals, and all or most can be switched to be used for power. So it makes no sense to say “Lightning is USB2-only” or whatever.
* The outer plug shell is used as ground reference and connected to the device shell.
* At least one (probably at most two) of the pins is used for detecting what sort of plug is plugged in.
* All plugs have to contain a controller/driver chip to implement the “adaptive” thing.
* The device watches for a momentary short on all pins (by the leading edge of the plug) to detect plug insertion/removal.
* The pins on the plug are deactivated until after the plug is fully inserted, when a wake-up signal on one of the pins cues the chip inside the plug. This avoids any shorting hazard while the plug isn’t inside the connector.
* The controller/driver chip tells the device what type it is, and for cases like the Lightning-to-USB cable whether a charger (that sends power) or a device (that needs power) is on the other end.
* The device can then switch the other pins between the SoC’s data lines or the power circuitry, as needed in each case.
* Once everything is properly set up, the controller/driver chip gets digital signals from the SoC and converts them – via serial/parallel, ADC/DAC, differential drivers or whatever – to whatever is needed by the interface on the other end of the adapter or cable. It could even re-encode these signals to some other format to use fewer wires, gain noise-immunity or whatever, and re-decode them on the other end; it’s all flexible. It could even convert to optical.

I read something under the Samsung cables about cellphone codes unlocker. Looks like serial port to multiple types of phones and older than dirt.

Its the same picture uneducated Apple fans throw around - without actually understanding whats in the picture. if you read the small print this is an accessory set of 17 in 1 set of serial connectors to allow their old phones to be standardised which would allow them to use usb 2 that all samsung phones use now. doh.gif it basically allows their old serial interfaces to be converted to usb2 and thats bad ?

And seriously how stupid is this slide "we needed to change the connector to fit a battery in" DERP the iphone5 is longer than the 4s and guess what the 4s also has a battery, stupid apple sheep that swollow all the crap they spurt out in marketing. i know general consumers are thick but seriously.
