1.65v on 1.35v ram? Corsair LP White

Is it ok to run this ram at 1.65v instead of 1.35v?So i can do 8-8-8-24 instead of 9-9-9-24?Or perhaps 1866 10 or 11?

This is the set http://www.corsair.com/us/memory-by-product-family/vengeance/vengeance-low-profile-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cml8gx3m2a1600c9w.html

yeah you could, that's the max volts you could put on the ram anyways.

My ram at 1200MHz @ 10-12-12-31 has been running at 1.69X V since May and I've had zero problems at this high of a voltage. It's obviously not recommended but if your ram is stable at 1.65 V, I don't see why not thumb.gif

With 1600C9, chances are you're going to get Elpida or Nanya, which won't scale much past 1.5V anyway.
But if they're something else, it's perfectly safe to use them at 1.65 and beyond.

I have the 8.16 Nanya's ,now at 1600 8-8-8-24 1T 1.55v

What's better for a 2500K? 8-8-8-24 or just try higher speeds? 1866 CL10 still ok?

I'd say higher speeds personally, once you get to timings of CL9-10 and even 11 it's not much of a difference. CL9 is obviously a bit noticeable over CL11 though. I'd aim for 1866MHz or 2000MHz at CL10 and work your way up/down from there.

Apparently faster speeds for Intel but AMD respond well to tighter timings....or so the word was on here anyway thumb.gif
