Sending a display from a Mac

Thread Starter
Hello,

I currently have a 2-monitor setup at home. Girlfriend is moving in and has a Macbook she uses for graphic design. Is there any way to send the display so that she can use it across the two monitors?

Thanks!

There are ways to sort of share the display over wifi. (AirDisplay) But you would be best just getting the cables. Which macbook (and year) is it and what are the displays?

You can use the native display out and a USB display adapter.

That being said if she is really doing high end stuff that requires 3 displays then a regular Macbook isn't really going to cut it, id suggest at minimum a 15" pro with a dedicated GPU or Mac Pro, but that's just my experience and professional opinion thumb.gif

Thanks for the quick response. Unsure the year, but it's a MacBook pro. The monitors are a couple of ASUS LCDs, they have HDMI & DVI inputs. Any suggestions on cables? also, will it need software support?

Thanks!

No clue what she has, but she landed a job so i'm assuming it's up to snuff? Haha. Either way, it will easily go to two monitors? Just a USB out to HDMI then? If you know of any suggestions could you link it? Thanks!!

My older macbook pro 2009-2011, most likely what your girlfriend has. Had a single display port so that can go to dvi ect. and the second screen will need a usb display adaptor. The screen on the usb wont be ideal.

have a look what this guy did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIVZI1cFiAw
