With premium you get those same meaningless achievements. If you buy it NOW you get 8 maps and some weapons you will probably never use. You get a new skin for your knife too I guess if that makes it worth more to you. If you bought it when it was new, you got ... well.. that knife skin.
You could argue that you also get new vehicles, but that's pretty much bull. One of the two existing "expansions" doesn't even have vehicles, never mind new
ones. Those new vehicles are locked to the maps they were added in and they replace
the old vehicles. Many of them have identical functions. Does it really change the gameplay? No not really. Maybe the AC-130 and the missile truck, but lets face it the missile truck is useless and the AC-130 might as well be a kill/death streak item from CoD.
Now, they promise
they will add another 8 maps and some more junk weapons. MMK. They've already shown their promises aren't worth a whole lot so I'm not giving them any points for that.
So where does that really leave us? 8 maps, 2 (functionally) new vehicles (which are only playable on what... 2 of those maps each?), some empty promises and a whole bunch of meaningless cosmetic items VS 17 real, existing, functional maps.
I hate CoD and I'm a long time Battlefield fan, but I've gotta say, so far CoD's map packs offer a significantly greater
value per dollar. Even if
EA makes good on all it's current
promises (which they are steadily reneging on), it will only be AS
good or marginally
better than what already exists
in CoD without having to hope and pray and wait.
