I've had nothing but disdain for Metro since its first unveil. It's an awful UI with zero use as a full-scale desktop UI. Forcing it on everyone is not going to be received well by many people, including myself. If you like it, good for you, but quit acting like your opinion is better than anyone else's. The bandwagon comments are childish and pedantic.
Wow. I'm done fighting. Hey OP, thank you for the post on the hardware. Some of us appreciate it. Sorry it turned into the typical schoolyard brawl. That was to be expected.
/edit. Not sure if that last part was aimed at me. If not, sorry for the quote.

I DON'T LIKE THIS SO IT MUST BE BAD BY DEFINITION.

BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE IT!

Whether this appeals to other people who actually do like Windows 8 is irrelevant. This is bad!

How dare Logitech make products that don't cater to my specific wants/needs? Are they not aware of how important I am?

/How people think on the internet.

Hi, I'm a person who is actually interested in this stuff. Crazy I know!

I have been using my galaxy S3 with multi-touch touchpad apps (three finger maximise and minimise/two finger scroll etc) to control my PC/Laptop while away from my desk or TV with pc connected/lying down and something like that large touch pad would work wonders.

And I use it MOSTLY in the old Windows UI, so all the "boooo stuff that does stuff in the new UI that apparently nobody wants because I say so" comments are pure ignorance/"internet guy" speak.

Except that I don't present my interest in the product as a dismissal of the fact that somebody else may not like it.

For instance.

Objective guy: I like this. I can use it in X Y Z ways that are useful to me.

"Internet" guy: No thanks, why make a product for a UI that "nobody asked for". Rabble rabble rabble.

One person is giving their opinion on the product. Their statement reflects their own needs/interests alone.

The other is behaving as if their one singular opinion applies to all and that the product is worthless in general simply because they don't like it.

I love win 8 and will be getting something like this, probably the touch pad. I have win 8 on my toshiba laptop. the touchpad on my laptop works really good with win 8 , it basically does everything this guy did. Another thing , i connected my laptop with my 24" monitor and the touch pad feels so great with large monitor, so this is where I am mostly basing my decision.

>People still don't know that there are third party applications to bring back the Windows 7 start menu with 100% functionality

Whatever, you can keep using Windows 7 and I'll keep using its faster and better successor.

People take one look at metro and think that it's being "shoved down their throats". While I do think that MS should've included an option to disable it (and enable aero glass), it's not a big deal. After a week or so you'll realize just how useless the start menu is to begin with. The only thing it's really good for is searching, and the start screen actually does that better.

But again, you're never forced to see the start screen if you download a third party application. And that's what Windows is about: downloading third party applications to fix Microsoft's glaring mistakes.

"If something is not broken, don't try to fix it" has been my ideology for anything related to computers.

I have windows 7 ultimate and it works like a charm. It's fast, gives no errors, compatible with everything (at least that i ever wanted to use or run) and very user friendly.

It gets updates constantly and never had any issues whatsoever.

So i really can't see any reason whatsoever to spend a couple hundred dollars for an operating system that will not only make any virtual difference to my day to day use, it possibly will hinder considering the hardware issues and manufacturers and software companies not approving of it.

Thanks but no thanks.

And to all those who say that we are bashing the product or we are haters or we are against innovation etc etc:
Not buying is not hating nor bashing. It's just that we can't justify the value in the purchase.

Nice try, but once again your epic forced attempted at trying to be devil's advocate is flawed.

Objective guy: I like this(btw, i'd like to add, how the hell can he be objective if he has a bias or preference to something?)
"Internet guy": I disagree with this.

"Objective guy" responds: QUIT BASHING the things I like.
