By that theory, Microsoft should only include things that people ask for in Windows. I wonder how THAT would have turned out... eek.gif I like the Metro UI quite a bit, but it IS preference I grant you.
Again, preference. Logitech is just staying up with the times. I find the UI legitimately (sp) useful. So, some additional hardware may or may not be needed to take full advantage of it. This would be like Microsoft adding audio playback into Windows for the first time and you crying foul because you have to buy some headphones to use it... rolleyes.gif

Your preference is a preference. Therefor my preference is that your preference is invalid. Crap I just stated my preference. Man, now someone is going to tell me that my preference is a preference.

Personally I think its really awesome, my only annoyance from what was shown on the video for the touchpad was that the right-click was bottom right. I really hope for Logitechs sake they included options for 2 finger tap = right click, and 3 finger tap = middle click

The whole idea of Metro being forced upon the end user reminds me of a line from an old movie ...

Whats even more contradictory is how you infer from my original sentence that I "behave" like nobody likes or wants the UI. That's a stretch isn't it?
Lets break it down then.
True, its a hardware feature that isn't included in most mice.
We can certainly agree a fullscreen start menu is an additional UI feature to Windows as a whole
For this part, I really do apologize (no sarcasm) that you took this one too literally. It was more a generalization regarding the minority of windows users that prefer the new UI. You certainly are not "nobodies" and I'm sorry if that offended you. But the majority that don't prefer the UI in comparison to the minority that do tilts this part to refer to the majority that didn't ask for this UI feature.
Also I have not heard or seen anyone that petitioned or requested this UI or its features to a desktop environment (i'm welcome to sources that contradict this) so in part, that last part is still true.

I like how you can pull "minority" and "majority" out of your backside like that.

Do you have any numbers to back that up?

Or are you going to do the classic "internet guy" thing where you assume everyone = people interested in things you like.

Kind of like how according to internet:

"Call of Duty sucks"

or

"Console gaming sucks"

or

"Apple environment/ecosystem sucks"

or

"EA games suck"

etc etc.

If any of these "internet guy" statements were actual reality, these companies and environments wouldn't be the most popular in the world. As it stands, the millions upon millions upon tens more millions of people do not agree with what "internet guy" says and the same can easily be applied here.

Its the equivalent of a Nazi walking in on a Hanukkah celebration and complaining that there are too many Jews.

Nobody forced him to be there, nobody forced him go to a Hanukkah celebration, but for some reason he feels the need to walk into a Hanukkah celebration and be upset that he finds a Hanukkah celebration taking place.

Yes you are right. Thank god no one will force anyone to buy windows 8. Hopefully it will die quick like Vista and we will all move to Windows 9 before the end of 2013.

There is a fine line between innovation and crap that makes you wonder how it even got past quality control. The concept of Windows 8 is noble, but its total lack of practicality and applicability for most devices puts it as part of the latter.

Your analogy is plainly wrong and too extrapolated to make any sense in the context. In fact, this situation requires no analogy.

I see a person who is simply expressing his dire hope that the pc market doesnt go full derp b/c of Windows 8.

Nope, its basically a person who doesn't like/use Windows 8, walking into a Windows 8 shop that sells products for Windows 8 and complaining that these products for Windows 8 are Windows 8 products that utilize Windows 8 functionality. Not understanding why a Windows 8 product would include functions that take advantage of Windows 8 functionality.

And that these Windows 8 products for Windows 8 that utilize Windows 8 functionality somehow force him to use Windows 8 with Windows 8 based peripherals that utilize Windows 8.

Simply because they exist.

As if to say making Windows 8 products for Windows 8 that utilize Windows 8 functionality somehow stops him using his preferred operating system with his preferred peripherals.

As if to say that making Windows 8 products for Windows 8 that utilize Windows 8 functionality even stops him using his preferred traditional peripherals should he actually decide to use Windows 8 at any point in time.

How dare Logitech make products that don't cater to my specific wants/needs? Are they not aware of how important I am?
/How people think on the internet.
Hi, I'm a person who is actually interested in this stuff. Crazy I know!
I have been using my galaxy S3 with multi-touch touchpad apps (three finger maximise and minimise/two finger scroll etc) to control my PC/Laptop while away from my desk or TV with pc connected/lying down and something like that large touch pad would work wonders.
And I use it MOSTLY in the old Windows UI, so all the "boooo stuff that does stuff in the new UI that apparently nobody wants because I say so" comments are pure ignorance/"internet guy" speak.

^ There are always the few that find it useful.

Looks so gimmicky when you have to use a touchpad screen to use Windows 8 properly.

The mouse looks like the Microsoft Sculpt but with an extra button. (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/sculpt-touch-mouse and others: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/windows-8-compatible-hardware)

It's not very ergonomic
