I updated.

My stomach was in knots for a minute.

I did the normal routine and MB asked me to reboot as normal.

It rebooted and beeped and turned off for three times before beeping and loading normally. I thought Bios was corrupted.

So I did my set of adjusts and now it is OK. MEI continued with the last update.

Was not the MB trying to establish a kind of overclock parameters?

Yup, this happens sometimes.

This mb is doing many tests at boot, to detect memory speed/time/volt, pci express cards, cpu, hds ... u name it.

Sometimes it goes crazy after a bios update when these settings are being re-done.

Nothing to worry about as long as everything works fine.

I would recommand to check your bios settings after the update anyhow, since they reset.

Does the new 3603 bios for p8z68-v pro allow virtuMVP without an evaluation period???

And are there any other stability improvements and faster boot post... smile.gif

I just downloaded this version 3603 bios myself just now. You just need to update the current version virutMVP at their webpage. My version is for the list I have below:

Update procedure for users needing Intel Smart Response Technology:
(1) Enter OS, and ensure Intel Smart Response Technology has been turned off under Intel Rapid Storage Technology interface.
(2) Install version Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver to version 11.5.0.1207
(3) Reboot the system, and update BIOS to version 3603, then reboot.
(4) Enter the BIOS setup screen, press F5 to load BIOS default, then change the Intel SATA Port to RAID mode.
(5) Boot into OS, and re-enable Intel Smart Response Technology under Intel Rapid Storage Technology.

Currently, i have the 3402 bios and the latest version of virtu mvp (2.1.221)
And the virtu mvp is in a 30 day evaluation period
So will the 3603 bios remove the evaluation because these motherboard came only with virtu support.
But the virtu mvp seems to work perfectly on the Z68...

Sorry, no.

The Virtu module is a software that connects the processor graphics with pci-e graphic cards, it does not have a software on the motherboard (rom) of any sort, therefor updating the bios have nothing to do with this issue, as far as i'm aware of.

The only oprom in the bios that is connected to the operation of Virtu is the Intel VGA oprom.

I've updated it in both versions of my mods (3603/3402) to Intel VGA ROM 2143 PC 14.34 dated 05/22/2012 which is the latest version.

So regarding your question - both of my mods hold the same VGA oprom so Virtu should behave the same (assuming same software version), i'm not sure about the vga rom version of the original bioses though.

You do have a point there...
So then I assume that the virtu MVP software must be detecting the motherboard chipset and since it was made for the Z77, it starts an evaluation period frown.gif
