front usb 3.0 fails (GB GA-Z77X-D3H

Hi y'all

I'm having an issue with my front USB 3.0 on-board header,
When I plug in a USB 3.0 flash-drive it will connect (make the connection sound), but if I try to copy data onto or off it, it will disconnect (without the disconnect sound), then it will give an error stating the drive is not connected.
If I try to format the flash-drive it will seems like it's beginning the format process but then it will give an error stating the format could not be completed, when I click "OK on that error message another one will appear stating the flash-drive is not connected.

info:

I have installed the latest mobo USB 3.0 drivers.
All is enabled in the bios.
When connecting a USB 2.0 flash-drive it works with no problems.

Only thing I can think of is not enough power is getting to the flash-drive through the USB port, because my 3.0 flash-drive has an LED on it. is 16 GB and is USB 3.0 and is pretty hard core (corsair flash voyager slider), and the 2.0 flash-drive is a low end one.

on the rear I/O there is no problems with the USB 3.0

Dear Omricn,

please try to use the newest BIOS or try to install Intel ME and chipset before install other drivers

I went ahead and connected my flash drive straight in to the mobo header extension, and surprisingly it worked flawlessly.. so the original bracket that came with my case (haf 912 advanced) is causing the issue, I've contacted CM and they agreed to send me a replacement bracket, but I'm from Israel and they don't ship outside the US.. so I guess I'll go ahead and get a replacement from ebay.
P.s the bracket that came with my case has two usb 3.0 male connectors that I guess were designed to be connected to the rear i/o, and the replacement I'll get has a mobo header connector.

discard the above.. front usb 3.0 will not work what so ever, it will always fail once trying to do anything with the flash drive

I had the same issue but i could copy around 10 gb before front usb3 died on a HafX, Cm sent me 2 new complete kits out including front io plates.
Sadly these 2 kits have sat in the cupboard for a year as i cant be bothjered to dismantle my system to chage the things over.
I never use the front ports now anyways as tehre connected to a asmedia controller and i have 2 intel usb3 ports on the back of the mobo which has faster speeds wink.gif

What's your usb connected to, marvel, asmedia, intel usb3 ect ?
