Yeah, as mmonnin has said, the hayday of the mega GPU project is over... for the time being. Hopefully Stanford will repeat the love later down the track.

Yeah, as said, that wont help right now.

That card should still be good for 25-30k+ ppd right now which is still pretty decent for a mid-level graphics card... used to be that 5k ppd was great. I am sure in the future you will be able to get much more (as we saw in a beta test that was held) but for right now 25-30 is a good estimate of what to expect.

Here is the old guide which is currently not going to be of much help:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1327166/nvidia-v7-guide-for-folding-beta-project-8057-expired/0_50

Here is the discussion thread for the units that were bringing in amazing points:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1321720/bonus-points-for-gpus/0_50

You could set up the folding client as described in that guide and allow it to fold. It will get the units that are currently being given out but you can always hope for another round of those beta units thumb.gif
You can watch the discussion thread since people have been discussing new GPU units that come out and updates that have recently been made to the points for the units.

Ah okay, I appreciate it. I'm getting about 25K PPD with it now. I think I'm gonna strap a Antec 620 on this guy because it hangs out in the 62-65C region. I know that's not bad but if its on 24/7 I'd like it to be lower...

Also, when folding with an nVidia GPU do I need to disable one of my CPU cores for folding? Or is that only for AMD GPUs?

Before when I would fold with my 7870 I would use 3/4 for CPU cores for folding and all my cores would be 100% load still.

Only for AMD which uses OpenCL do you need to dedicate a CPU core for the GPU fahcore. For my nvidia card CPU usage blips to 1% every once in awhile.

AMD cards uses about 30% CPU power to fold on. Nvidia uses barely any.

Okay so I should be able to fold my CPU (i5 3570k) and 560ti without any performance issues. Good to know.
