My receiver is made to work well with dolby digital, and when it receives it, it can give any headphones amazing surround sound. It uses a virtualization technique that i promise works really well. It has a little blue led that lights up when it's receiving dolby digital (through digital optical fiber). In my xbox this works fine, but on my pc when i plug it into my asus p8p67 deluxe's optical out, and play a supposedly dobly digital game it doesn't light up. At first i thought my pc might not be capable of it, until i get a sound card, however when i go into control panel, sound, Realtek Digital Output (Optical) properties, click the supported formats tab, and test the dolby digital encoded format it works, and the blue led lights up, and i hear the sound as I'm mean to. Is there a way i could use dolby digital in all my games, with my setup? (asus p8p67 deluxe -- (optical fiber cable) receiver)
Thank You in advance
Also Note:
In the properties, under advanced the only formats i can choose from are 2 channel.
I am using the latest Realtek HD driver
There are no surround options in the driver when using the optical cable, only when using analog. (Im using optical)
