Getting a g710+ tomorrow, any questions?

So this will be my first mechanical keyboard, I guess I'm wondering if anyone has any questions about the keyboard itself once it arrives. I have a g15 currently and I had a merc stealth before this (never again merc).

Alright, Keyboard came in:

A few things I noticed so far, the m1-m4 keys up top to change the settings do not light up.

The keys up top (smaller ones, including the media) do not make as much noise (like cpate said above).

There are two buttons for changing the brightness of the LED. One changes the ASDW + arrow keys, the other changes everything else.

The sound roller on the right side is pretty smooth, almost like a scroll wheel.

Remove the key with a keypuller, butter knife, or paperclips and take pics of the underside of the key and the switch.

I want to see HOW they did the sound dampening.

For KEYBOARD SCIENCE!

Yeah. Open it up and show us some pics of internals. tongue.gif

Or at least let us know how many of the keys are actually mechanical. And how they made it "quiet" like they claim.

All the keys except the very top row of M-keys (M1, M2, M3, MR), media keys, lighting control keys, and the Game mode key are mechanical. So the G-keys, all the F-row keys, the standard QWERTY and six-pack and tenkey and arrow keys are all mechanical, plus whichever ones I forgot.

Dampening is done with o-rings.

Now my only question is, how would I go about removing a key WITHOUT a key remover?

So they just used o-rings. Seems simple enough, that's what many (or maybe only some?) of us do. smile.gif

I do like the white LEDs.. though I'll stick with my Ducky Shine :3

looks good, i am surprised that it has glossy parts on kb.

Also, having the o ring is a nice touch. It pretty much gives the option to the user if he/she wants to remove it.

that kb does fit along with them LCDs with them orange colors.
