rotating banners

Hi,

Glad to have joined. First post here:

A while back there was a guy in another forum I visit who had rotating banners. However, it was not a gif file (it is against the rules to have gifs or animations as banners there). And by "rotating banners" I mean that a certain banner would be up and then 20 secs later another one...then back to the previous, etc. The transition was not smooth, just a sudden change.

I'm a greenhorn when it comes to computers. How the heck is he doing this?
