Would this work? I have a DC7700 SFF desktop that needs a better heatsink, the cpu overheats. Would the 2500k stock heatsink fit an E6400 Core 2 Duo 775 cpu? If not could you recommends a good cheap cooling solution for the e6400 with a small case? Right now I am using the default heatsink that came with a P4 3.06ghz single core and it's just not doing it. Temps reach over 65c and games start lagging and freezing.

No I don't believe you can since the 1155 and 775 sockets have different mounting points on the motherboard

nothing is impossible. i did something similar with a heatsink and zip ties.
as lomg as the big end of the zip tie wont fit thru the hole in the motherboard.
you must try several kinds of placing the zipties to see what is the safest and then decide.
after that make the heatsing sit good tight on the board and GL

I don't have much experience with low profile cpu coolers but either one you choose should be better than a stock P4 cooler. If space permits I would get the tower cooler.
