Mouse / Keyboard skipping

Thread Starter
What could be causing the skipping of my mouse and keyboard?

For example, I open MS Paint and try to draw straight lines.. even when I am holding the button all the times, the lines doesn't connect sometimes... It is like the cursor lags for a milisecond and then get back on track.

Another example, sometimes when I am in windows, the mouse makes a double click instead of single click, which is very odd behaviour.

I've noticed something strange about my keyboard as well - when I write on MSN, the cursor goes backwards sometimes - like it lags for a milisecond and backtrack to previous letter.

I've been wondering if this could have anything to do with my HDD. I've discovered an error on it recently -

The mouse and keyboard are okay, I am pretty sure.

No it would not be your HDD. After you defrag the HDD, it will isolate any bad sectors.

Input lag may be caused by improper drivers, resolution or Hz refresh rate.

What drivers?

I haven't really change anything, resolution or refresh rates, so thats why i am inclined to think that it might be something with a hdd or a mobo.

Reinstalled mouse drivers as well as chipset drivers. It did nothing.

Before when I had the old drivers (not Razer synapse 2.0) installed for my Razer Deathadder 3.5G when I would unplug the mouse and plug it back in, it would jitter. Try uninstalling the drivers, restarting and keeping the mouse plugged in at all times.
