5850 Software Voltage and frequency options.

Hi all,

Just got an old school 5850 Twin Frozr card. The top voltage I can set on AB is 1.3 and clocks are 1090 and 1300 which I can max out on single stage cooling. Ultimately the card will be going on GPU cascade. So what software do I use to get round these boundary's for this card???

I have not clocked old ATI hardware for years and simply cant remember.

Either hard volt it or email an MSI rep and ask them if you can have a copy of Afterburner extreme.

The extreme verse allows up to 1.8v on all GPU's

I have ABX mate. version 2.2.0 I think It gives me 1.8v on my 7970 but not on this for some reason. What could I be doing wrong???

What's the max it goes up to? It could be that the voltage controller on the 5850 simply doesn't allow any higher.

It goes to 1.3v only I see a thread on XS with 1.4 + being used before OCP kicks in and thats on reference PCB.

It could very well be a hardware limitation then, if that's the case then get the soldering iron out and volt mod it

Sad!! but true. Anyway I could mod the Bios to allow say 1.4v. I am fairly sure this will be enough to get some serious points on the bot.

its a MSI twin Frozr 2 OC edition. I cant see the PCB number as I insulated it already.
