Hey all,

I was hoping to get some assistance with OCing my 3770k on this board.

I am trying to get a stable 4.5GHz 24/7.

It is primarily a gaming rig and my current settings seem to be ok, but I will still get a BSOD while gaming from time to time? :-(

I posted in the http://www.overclock.net/t/1247413/ivy-bridge-overclocking-guide-with-ln2-guide-at-the-end/1130#post_19584597

but since you guys have the board too, I thought it might help.

Mods, if this is considered cross posting, please feel free to delete.

Thanks,
Jason

Post your settings. What have you done so far and what are your temps at full load?

Thanks for the responses. I have a nice sound card now (PCI Legacy) that I like, but I don't really want to buy another if I can help it. Need to buy new speakers anyways though.

That program is not the best for testing for stability. Try something that will stress all 8 threads, like Wprime.

Try the on-board and then decide what you want to do.

Hi all I started out by reading Sin's overclocking manual and I am up to 4.2Ghz but not stable.

Here are my settings:
Code:
Advanced Frequency Settings
CPU/PCIe Base Clock - 100
Processor Graphics Clock - 1150
CPU Clock Ratio - 45
XMP Profile - I dont have this option
System Memory Multiplier - Auto (1600MHz)

Advanced CPU Core Features
CPU Clock Ratio - 42
Internal CPU PLL Overvoltage - Auto
Intel Turbo Boost Technology - Disabled
Turbo Ratio (1 Core Active) -
Turbo Ratio (2 Core Active) -
Turbo Ratio (3 Core Active) -
Turbo Ratio (4 Core Active) -
Turbo Power Limit (Watts) - Auto
Core Current Limit (Amps) - Auto
CPU Core Enabled - Auto
Hyper Threading Technology - Auto
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) - Disabled
C3/C6 State Support - Disabled
CPU Thermal Monitor - Disabled
CPU EIST Function - Disabled

Advanced Memory Settings
XMP - Don't have this option
System Memory Multiplier - 16.00
Performance Enhance - Turbo
DRAM Timing Selectable - Auto

Advanced Voltage Settings/3D Power Control
PWM Phase Control- eXm Perf
Vcore Voltage Response- Fast
Vcore Loadline Calibration - Turbo

Advanced Voltage Settings/CPU Core Voltage Control
CPU Vcore - 1.27v
DVID - Disabled
CPU Vtt - Auto
CPU PLL - Auto
IMC - Auto
Dynamic GFX Core - Auto

Advanced Voltage Settings/DRAM Voltage Control
Everything Auto

My idle temps are around 36 degrees and my load temps are around 70 degrees. Could I increase the vcore a little more?

The system crashed when I was testing using hyper Pi , but I haven't touched the memory settings yet.

Now that I am getting into the BIOS a bit more, I have some questions. If anyone could help me out that would be great.

1) On the 3D power control menu Sins guide says that I can max the vcore current proection and vcore PWM thermal protection - is it just those 2 items that can be maxed or can I max all 6 options i.e. vcore, vtt, GFX, DDR, PWM and GFX PWM?

2) What are 3D power controls?! Is it anything to do with graphics?

3) Can I change the chipset voltage control?

4) How come I don't see the XMP option? I am on F5 BIOS.

EDIT - also what is LN2? I have it set to normal.
