Rejects? I see... you just want to make me feel bad sadsmiley.gif

Now I want to toss my cpu thrpugh the window and get myself a Xeon... because I can?

Nah, 8-core gets no overclocking POWAH!!! I've run a few of them, they are good at what they do but for 99% of things a nicely clocked hex will beat the stuffing out of them.

I realize they are not for gaming and for are servers.

But there are i7 cpus that for servers too. The price difference is crazy.

It's like buying a Super car of a normal sports car.

It's not that much faster, or that much better, but you're paying for the premium.

The Xeon chips are the cream of the crop designed to run with all 8 cores(their faliure rate are really really low from what I hear) all the chips that got rejected gets into the 3960X binning with 2 core diabled, those that failed that become 3930K or 3820.

I'm not sure I read the first as it was supposed to be typed, but supercar > regular sports car

Some time this happens to Graphic cards too, for example

Top end Kepler Chips-> Tesla 20K(super computer use)->rejects->Quadro(professional)->rejects->Geforce GTX *80 cards->rejects Geforece GTX *70 cards->rejects-> Gefroce *60Ti

Moral of the story? We all get the rejects. I see how it is!

You might have no need for it, that does not means nobodo needs it.

You have no idea on what you are talking about, do more research.

Nice try though, better luck next time.

I didn't say that. I am asking why. rolleyes.gif

So are 3930k is identical to the top Xeon just with 2 cores disabled?
