I just got myself a Samsung 830 and I love it. It's awesome and pretty fast.

That it is, especially when coming from a Raptor HDD! Windows boots in under 10-15 seconds!

I came from a 5400RPM HDD so I noticed a huge difference in terms of speed.

I have a Vertex 4, a M4 and a Force 3 and really can't tell them apart. You should probably get whatever is the least expensive and highest quality.

This.
Probably outside of benchmarks you cannot see any difference between the top SSDs.
I would stick with Samsung. Vertex 4 (and 4 alone) is pretty good. Plextor M3/M5 Pro are also great. I have an M4 256 that is supposed to be the slowest of em all, but I would not change it for anything on the same size...aka they only "better" SSD is a bigger SSD!...(don't talk $90K big, but I will be getting a 512GB one in the future).
I dislike RAID as it lacks versatility, but it is an option if you think 1x SSD is not fast enough...

You can find FANTASTIC deals on the Samsung 830 right now, since the 840 is around the corner.

The 830 has a proven track record for reliability, speed, and quality. Although recent benchmarks show the 840 as slightly better in all categories, the jury is still out on long-term reliability being that they are so new.

My vote goes for the 830..It's what I have thumb.gif

lol you can't have the best for $250...
"Best" in OCN standards is a bootable PCIe multi-terabyte SLC SSD...

Other than that look into the Plextor M5 Pro or Samsung 840 Pro and Corsair Neutron GTX. Otherwise you aren't looking at the best. wink.gif
Get a single drive rather than 2 imo.
Also, you could look at the Vertex 4, Sammy 830, Intel 520, etc.

My... God...
I wonder what organizations are using such a beast..

Out of stock. But really, he should just wait for the 10.24TB.

For anyone who wants to drool and understand his "suggestion": http://www.fusionio.com/products/iodrive-octal/

Faster access times then RAM. biggrin.gif
