Maybe a car headlight relay for high-output HID lights.

Yeah, its an automotive relay (12v coil). I have a bunch of them from when I used to install car alarms.

So I'm prolly going to get a 1300watt psu Cooler Master w/ a 105a rated 12v rail. But I really want to keep my chiller as energy efficient as it is now at 9.3v. Meaning, I need a potentiometer to lower power from 12v. Any ideas? I guess it will have to be able to handle quiet a load.

I would imagine a high amp motor controller would work, but have you thought of using an Arqtik controller on it? I think he is working on ones with manual DC override besides the auto-adjusting based on target temp.

For the price of his controllers its not a bad deal considering how much time and testing you will be saving.

I've looked at one, but I'm trying to make it as simple as possible. Getting rid of the extra PSU is a big step, wouldn't want to add another component back on. Was thinking maybe a resistor or something.

Resistors won't work, nm. Of course that would be too simple.
