http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/L850/L855D-S5220/

Saw it on newegg refurb for 400 bucks

Has anybody felt this or tested it out?
its hard to find any kind of reviews on this notebook because its "walmart" but i dont like to think of computers like that i like being able to find something with descent hardware and fix whatever issues it may have myself (HEAT)

Upgrades
16gb memory (why not get it because i already have the memory-have had it for awhile)
ssd- Sata2 or Sata3 dont know which this notebook can handle-M4 or samsung 830-840

Thats it and just figure out what heat issues may arise and fix that (thermal paste replacement)

Slim down Windows 7 to the bare essentials, and play some Day of Defeat source, Borderlands 2 (minimal graphics fine with me i just want to play), Emulators,
Lightroom 3, Gimp,
Should be good to go with this laptop...im excited about it think ill go with it...
Looks good enough...Will be using those usb 3.0 ports like a champ and get a mouse and keyboard to just because i like being able have those instead of onboard...

An ex of mine had a toshiba, and it seemed alright.

Sounds like a sweet deal to me!

I have the older A-8 3500m llano in my laptop and it is fast! Download k10 stat and overclock/underclock! I bought an HP refurb from newegg back in the November of last year and I am not disappointed. Mine handles bf3 on high settings, guild wars 2 on high settings, diablo 3 is a walk in the park. When I received it, it looked new. No smudges or fingerprints, all of the plastic film was still on the laptop.

The 6gb of memory is plenty for my uses but 16gigs wouldn't hurt. thumb.gif I also applied some AS5 to the heatsink to keep things cool while I'm gaming on the go. It dropped my load temps from 81C to 67C ish (depending on if I have the vent holes covered). I could probably reapply the thermal paste better but I'm too lazy. I say go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the replies...
Im thinking this will be fine for what i want to do really nothing major or crazy...I have patience for video editing (LRtimelapse)
So im not to worried about it...
im going to get this machine and go to town on it....

Just waiting time needs to hurry up...

I did see the intel versions but im not going to pay for a dedicated card and intel for this nice machine...i like the price leaves me room to get an ssd which will help tremendously in editing and some game performance maybe...not sure though...
I am trying to figure what Sata form it is Sata2 or Sata3....
Have yet to find anything about that...

Im going to take advantage of amd's Ramdisk (data ram) hahah ill just go with a free version of ramdisk and utilize the minimal file storage for internet caches and such....

Ill do benches for
BF3
Day of Defeat Source (i know ridiculous)
Borderlands and Borderlands 2
Maxxmem
Disk Benches
Graphics Benches (will look and start downloading tomorrow)
Information about APU and The integrated GPU (7640g)
Tons of research going to get the most i can from this
Oh and make a slim down win7 and make it lightweight fast straight to the point notebook..
Otterbox for notebooks baha gotta look around for this one

So excited for this
will be posting here with further information and such like that

This seems solid
But imlooking also at the llano series for mobile to get a dedicated gpu

The integrated is not ba specially for the games I'd like to play but for editing been looking and reading reviews for editing with integrated and it just blows

On the hunt again but I think I'll just get this because I need a notebook and I can get a descent setup in the future
