Yeah neither I found really cared to much. UNLESS you plan on running crossfire/sli. Then the CPU bottleneck makes every little mhz count. And then just spend on the fastest multi chip you can buy, pre-tested.

im in the same boat. im getting a phase and i have a SB chip right now. but good thing is i have a z77 board coming.

NOPE you still got alot of juice left, if you want to go Ivy Bridge wait for the Ivy Bridge Extreme Edition come out next year, for now the i7 3930k is the cpu to beat but i would just wait to next year.
