Well, I agree to an extent. But in my situation, closed loop watercooling was the only way to go. I am running a mitx rig and only have ~80mm heatsink height limit, and my motherboards socket is literally right next to the pcie slot (I am talking intel stock cooler ~1cm from touching gpu.
temps really arent as bad as you say though 1 fan ~890rpm cooling the thin rad and I can do 4.5ghz never touching 80c max temp on prime.
Kind of a slow work in progress as I dont really need a gaming rig at the moment since nothing out interests me, it will surely be done by before the end of the year for gta5 and such.
I will be getting a 2tb desktop drive in wednesday and it will fit lol 8yr old desktop drive fit (Click to show)
