Hi guys. I have ordered 2500k, asrock p67 pro3 and 2x4gb of kingston ram.

I am thinking what psu (maybo some chieftec around 500W ?) and what CASE to get.

First and foremost I am i Love with Fractal design R3. It is a little expensive but its gorgeus I think. Should I just get it?

Buy a better PSU and a cheaper case. Just my 2cents.gif

Cases are personal preference. I own a 690II Advanced from Cooler Master thats nice, but I really wanted to do a mini ITX build, so I am selling that and my ATX motherboard so I could get the Prodigy and a motherboard to fit. I would say get whichever you like the most. I would avoid, however, getting some massive overpriced case just because you like it, then tossing in a micro ATX board inside. I have found the novelty of a case eventually wears off. There are a lot of good cases for the 100-150 range.

I agree with above, get a better PSU. The 500W is fine, but get a brand like antec, corsair, seasonic, etc.

A Rosewill Capstone 550W Gold with a CoolerMaster Storm Scout will look nice.

But for the case, it is your choice. If you like the look and fit in your money.

I'd say less powerful processor, big upgrade to the graphics. 7950 for the same money will provide you 670 level performance.

But... too late. I had the R3. The R4 is out fyi.
Case?

PSU Brands. Read up some reviews for examples why you should pay attention to brand, and line, --> meaning the guts and people ripping them out, pulling loads on them to see if they blow up or give too much noise in their electricity.

Example of a BAD power supply you don't want to be caught buying. And this is from a "reputable" brand!

TL;DR
I picked this one because it's well reviewed.
Stallion series are a favorite over here on OCN.

I'd personally wait, because you can get same quality for cheaper since slickdeals comes out with a 500-600w well reviewed powersuply for ~$30after rebate every other week or so.

Rule of thumb, should be pretty well under $10/100w. Unless you don't mind retail pricing.

I think the Fractal Designs Define R4 case would be great. A little more room for cable management over the R3.
Define R4 Case

For the psu here is a great one: Rosewill Capstone 550W PSU

I would say something like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151093

You will enjoy the semi modular feature when you dont have to hide all those extra molex connectors that you probably won't use.

Thanks for answerws.

I am mainly looking for case around or under 100$. Good air flow, maybe quiet and MAINLY DUST FREE
All that PSU thing got me interested,

I think Antec gamer 520W looks seems nice. Coolermaster 500W also *but it's suspicious cheap like 230pln ~that is around 65usd. ACtually I would prefer not to spend much. I am on a strickt budget anyway with recent purchase and having 7870 in mind for next month (or something else)

The point is that my old *trusted* retailer who always goes amd and lives in his own world (btw I freaking love arguing with this guy NOT wanting to sell me parts for like last 10 years. He is fantastic. I feel like I achieved something making an order for 2500k and p67 mobo  He wanted me to get fx 8150 like there was no other cpu but I won tongue.gif it is weird relationship... I am buying all my parts in his shop.)

Anyway. He is struckt in his belief that Chieftec psu's are THE BEST. When I was building rig in 2007 I got chieftec 450W which was about 120usd. he wanted me to get it and asured the quality. Sure, it works to this day. At least I think so. I am having some problems with my pc and I am almost sure it's motherboard. Will be sure when new cpu, mobo and ram arrives on monday.

When I told him about Antec 520W, he immidietly rejected it and said those are not durable for long time even that those got good reviews. He also quickly neglected ocz psu's for having few returns.

btw. That rosewill is not aviable in Poland it seems
