When your kid starts moving on his/her own it gets much much more difficult, hell sometimes it's hard fopr me to even get a post on this site depoending on what my son wants to do. And yes, the kids always win.

Completely true! I pretty much have to contain my kid in the same room as me, then put a gate around things he shouldnt get into (like my computer).

Oh god that makes what i'm going through sound like nothing! all the kid does is eat and sleep(just not at night lol) sounds like it gets worse! but in honesty i think its really killed my motivation right now, samething with going to the gym i use to go 4 or 5 times a week now i sometimes don't go at all, growing up really sucks...

You'll have time. When they are really young their sleeping patterns are somewhat erratic and they need to get up to eat all the time. My girlfriend breastfeeds so she takes care of our son in that regard. Thankfully I still have plenty of time to do the things I need to do because of this!

As they get older their sleeping pattern will become normal and you hopefully have a significant other or loved one who can watch them for a short while so you can go exercise and engage in other things. Don't stop exercising, for me it greatly helps in dealing with depression, anger, frustration etc and keeps me on an even level mentally.

I have over 100 games on steam...and they are all installed.

It usually takes a friend to say "hey man you gotta try this game"
And I'm like "okay fine I'll boot it up.....stop bugging me."

The best games around today are all coop....but unfortunately I never get to play with my IRL friends.

I've got 8 or 9 recent games but I can barely play them for longer than 5 minutes before losing interest. This includes a zSnes emulator with 757 roms. Instead I've been spending my time with Linux VM's (making this post from a Linux Mint) and Rainmeter skins. On a sidenote if anyone has any idiot guides to rainmeter I would much appreciate as I am having little success.

*EDIT* I just found out Morrowind GOTY is on steam. That and a friend of mine apparently has my whole collection of mods that I apparently gave to him a few years ago. I will be getting those files and buying the game on steam. If all goes well it will be the first thing gaming wise that I am excited about in a long time now.

LOL! It gets better, and worse at the same time, when they start moving around on their own you have to start reallt paying more attention. I honestly don't even know if I'm going to spend the money I thought I was on this next upgrade. Yes I do know that pc gaming is far better than console gaming, but when I factor in being a father/husband/student, I really don't have much time left. And at the end of the day I have to think about the bills and such. Honestly though, my son has given me so much more joy than a pc or gaming or whatever could.

Gaming is not the problem, it's your life outside of gaming.

As you get older job, kids, life etc... take precedent over gaming. I still enjoy playing casually but not nearly as much as when I was in my 20s. My advice is spend as much time with your family and enjoy watching them grow up. It goes so fast. Play a few games on the side when you get a chance. You won't regret it later.

I'm almost in your shoes exactly! I just had a son born a little over 2 weeks ago and I just turn 22 a week ago. After he was born I was in the same slump you were. I picked up GW2, Ratchet and Clank Collection, and Madden. Even with those games I would still just sit and stare. I picked up MoP this past weekend and it has helped alot. While he's awake and just laying around I'll work on questing and professions and while he's asleep I'll get in dungeons and PvP. I don't plan on doing raiding anytime soon, as I don't really have the time for it. Once I hit max level I'll probably focus on making money and getting transmog gear and once my son is a little more self supportive and sleeping better I'll start raiding at nights. I'm glad I picked up MoP. I'm enjoying it quite a bit (far better than Cata).

Been thinking about doing this but I'm worried for a couple reasons:
1. I love wow and when I get into it I don't have time for anythign else which I usually dont anyway....
2. Its 40 bucks ehhh Idk if I want to throw that away especially when I'm the only one working and rent and bills and all that add up for just 1 person
2.5 15 bucks a month
3. WIll I even enjoy it?
4. How is the old lady gonna feel about it lol!

But thanks for all the responses guys I'm still feeling the same way I did when I made this post but trying to take the advice you guys have gave me and make some sense out of all of it.
