[Engadget] AMD could slash up to 30 percent of its workforce - Page 9

It wouldn't surprise me if AMD were to focus soley on APU and GPU, It also wouldn't surprise me if they made a come back to the enthusiast market in 5 years or so after seriously thinking about how to get back on top in the CPU market, but that will probably only happen if HSA flops...

Hopefully it's the idiots that designed Bulldozer that get layed off.

Are you serious right now? Bulldozer would have performed better if the software was optimized to handle SSE4, XOP, and FMA4 more efficiently. I'm sure chief architect Mike Butler and his colleagues including an experienced chip designer from IBM would know how to properly design a microprocessor. I believe the core limit in Windows 7 64-bit is up to four cores. If the OS was specifically optimized for Bulldozer, then you would see significant performance improvements.

You sir should highly consider thinking before making such foolish comments.

the amount of "FAIL" in that article is mind boggling, Forbes and its content creators are very interested in pushing the cloud, as it makes the entire software stack into a walled DRM laden garden of control.

The cloud, just say NO

even using the speed of light, we will still have to much latency unless the server is 20 feet away, OH and yeah, pipping lining all that pixel data across the network, roflmao
